Anabec Flame & Fire Retardant (AFFR)
Anabec’s Flame & Fire Retardant (A.F.F.R.) is a water-based fire retardant barrier. Our flame retardant ASTM E84 test provides Class 1 or Class A fire rated surface burning characteristics. A.F.F.R. operates as a barrier to retard flammability and smoke development. Our anti-flame technology is based on the active ingredient borate and ammonium polyphosphates to slow the burn rate. A.F.F.R. has excellent resistance to insects and rodents. When using NewBuild 50 in tandem with Anabec’s Flame & Fire Retardant, A.F.F.R. must be applied first. A.F.F.R. is FBC System Compatible and is approved by Spears Manufacturing Company, Inc. for CPVC compatibility.
It is Highly Recommended that Anabec Products be applied “PRIOR” to any mechanical installations in New Construction. It is also important to be sensitive to any fire sprinkler systems prior to the application of A.F.F.R. They must be covered to protect the sprinkler systems since A.F.F.R. goes on like a paint.
